I am between worlds 
On my way 
A new day dawning, almost 
Through the crown of my head
The crown of my Being 
As Life pours into me 
From the inside, to the outside 
I emerge

Before, I cannot see. But it’s all there, in the darkness. The warmth, sensual undulations, the nectar of life feeding me. I need do nothing but be – present to the miracle. The miracle of life, the miracle I am part of – the miracle that is happening, happening through me.

Swish, gurgle, pulse…

How is it that we first exist without needing to breathe? Another miracle, within the miracle itself. Alive, but not quite yet. Both. And perhaps that is the key difference…the Key to Life itself. Our emergence demands that we breathe. Breathe. Engage with Life. Take it in, into our bodies. And give back. Give back through our exhale, the exhale of who we are. Inhale Life – exhale who we are. This key, essential, everyday exchange – conscious and not. Our contract in being here.

Our soul and the world shook hands before entry. Became one upon emergence, whether we like it or not. Our soul and the world – one – breathing each other. Alchemical fusion. An everyday reality, an everyday practice, an everyday companionship. Every Day…until we are no more. Until we take our very last breath.

Now about that very last breath…is that an inhale or exhale upon departure? Our entry is clear…Life rushes into us. You’re here! You’re Here! Oh my God, we wail. I’m here. But the leaving…I’m not quite sure. Is that a scientific reality, or does it vary based on person – situation – cause of death – soul?

If I were to venture a guess, as I sit here breathing…breathing in, breathing out…breathing. It must be the Exhale. The final release, the final letting go. The final giving back of our soul in this lifetime.

Breathe me in

And our Ultimate giving back…
The Exhale of who we are
Who YOU are – who I am
Who we are
The Exhale that cannot be helped
